# 🕹️ Start game

At the beginning of each round, players are given a set amount of gold to spend on building towers. The gold can be used to purchase different types of towers, each with unique abilities and strengths. Players strategically place their towers along the path that the enemy units will follow, aiming to eliminate as many enemies as possible.

After the tower placement phase, the waves of enemy units start to spawn. These waves consist of various types of creatures, each with different abilities and strengths. The goal is to strategically position towers to efficiently eliminate the enemy units before they reach the player's base.

As the game progresses, players earn additional gold by defeating enemy units. This gold can be used to upgrade existing towers, purchase new ones, or send additional waves of enemies to attack the opponents. Players must carefully manage their resources and make strategic decisions to counter their opponents' strategies.

The game continues with alternating waves of enemy units and tower building phases until one player's base is destroyed. The player who successfully defends their base and eliminates their opponent's base emerges as the winner.

Mercenary Battleground offers a dynamic and competitive gameplay experience, where players must adapt their strategies based on their opponents' actions and the changing waves of enemy units. It requires careful planning, resource management, and quick thinking to emerge victorious.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://mbground.gitbook.io/game/about-game/start-game.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
